Asus has released the 14-inch ExpertBook A7, a new laptop model available for purchase today. The current configuration ships with an Intel Core 5 320 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
Why it matters
This release expands the ExpertBook line with a mid-range hardware refresh centered on a high-refresh-rate OLED panel. It signals Asus's strategy to balance premium display specifications with standard mobile computing internals.
The base ExpertBook A7 model includes an Intel Core 5 320 chip and a 14-inch OLED display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. It is currently available with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The players
Asus
A multinational hardware company known for its diverse range of consumer laptops, motherboards, and gaming-focused hardware.
Intel
A semiconductor manufacturer that produces the x86 series microprocessors used in the ExpertBook A7.
The details
The ExpertBook A7 utilizes an OLED display—a screen technology that uses organic compounds to emit light, providing high contrast and deep blacks—to support a 120Hz refresh rate, or the number of times the screen updates per second. This higher frequency improves the smoothness of motion compared to standard 60Hz panels. The system is powered by the Intel Core 5 320, a mobile processor managing tasks between the memory and storage subsystems.
Timeline
October 14, 2026: The ExpertBook A7 became available for purchase.
2027: An 8GB RAM version is scheduled for release.
The Tech Race
The ExpertBook A7 positions itself within the crowded 14-inch productivity segment by leveraging the Intel Core 5 320 platform. It follows the trajectory of manufacturers prioritizing high-refresh-rate OLED panels to distinguish standard work laptops from previous generations.
Consumers seeking high-refresh-rate displays for general productivity can purchase the 16GB RAM model immediately. A lower-cost 8GB RAM option will arrive in 2027 for those preferring a reduced entry price.
The takeaway
The ExpertBook A7 updates the 14-inch laptop category with 120Hz display capabilities across both available and upcoming RAM configurations. Prospective buyers should watch for the 2027 arrival of the $899 model if the 16GB performance tier exceeds their specific workflow needs.
What happens next
A budget-friendly 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model of the ExpertBook A7 is scheduled for a 2027 release at a price of $899.
