Toshiba has released the DCL32xx00 series, a set of four new dual-channel digital isolators designed for industrial hardware. These components are currently available to support systems requiring compact, low-power isolation.

Why it matters

The new series allows hardware designers to scale channel density to match specific industrial application requirements without over-provisioning components. By handling both 3.3 V and 5 V logic domains, these devices eliminate the need for external level-shifting circuitry.

The DCL32xx00 series operates at 0.2 mA per channel with a maximum data rate of 25 Mbps and common-mode transient immunity of 30 kV/μs. The devices are housed in 4.9mm x 6.0mm x 1.75mm SOIC8-N packages and function across a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.

The players

Toshiba

A multinational semiconductor manufacturer specializing in power electronics, storage, and logic integrated circuits for industrial and consumer sectors.

The details

The devices utilize proprietary magnetic coupling isolation technology, which employs coreless transformers to transfer data across an electrical barrier. Each model in the series offers either two forward channels or one forward and one reverse channel. This configuration allows the isolators to operate effectively within a supply voltage range of 2.25 V to 5.5 V.

Timeline

  1. Mid-2026: Toshiba released the quad-channel DCL34xx0B series.

  2. October 27, 2026: Toshiba introduced the DCL32xx00 dual-channel isolator series.

The Tech Race

This release follows the mid-2026 introduction of the quad-channel DCL34xx0B series, filling out the company's low-power isolator lineup. The expansion brings the total portfolio to 10 products, targeting a broader range of industrial footprints.

Industrial engineers can now integrate these components into new designs to manage signal isolation while reducing total component count and power consumption. The parts are currently shipping for use in professional and industrial hardware development workflows.

The takeaway

Toshiba is narrowing the gap between signal isolation capability and power efficiency in industrial hardware. Watch for subsequent updates to the low-power series as the company attempts to displace higher-consumption legacy components in compact designs.
